I Met a Man

I met a man, by accident
of choice. We shared a friend, a class, and a turn of thought.
He helped me learn the form, and understand the meaning of
confidence. Though he outranked me
he was equal

I met a man, he helped me
to learn how to be someone else.
He showed me the difference of being part of a group
imagination.

I met a man, he loved machines
no one can create. He strategized and scavenged, and
though I do not love the skill
it defines the man

I met a man, he loved his family
Helped every chance he was given. Sometimes advantage was taken, Is it his,
or theirs? His choice.

I met a man, a minotaur,
He flew for months, without the luck
to land. I met him in the dark, but he helped find
the light.

I met a man, he could move
objects with a thought. I shared his skill, and his beliefs. He taught me
how to trust, and I taught him how to
think fast.

I met a man, a snake, his
deadly bite sheathed in silence. He has the potential to wound or heal.
He defends from those who invade, and helps those
who need assistance.

I met a man, a scholar
on the road to knowledge. He looked in books
for his facts, but he looked
to his heart for truth.

I met a friend, a man,
nothing more. But he held the world in his hands and never let go.
I met a man who helped me realize the importance of love, and
how much it hurts to be alone.
